ELI'S DESING

This is Eli´s design. It can give you ideas for your Christmas Presents.

ZENTANGLE AN OBJECT

ZENTANGLE, WHAT IS IT?

Zentagle means ZEN (meditation) + TANGLE (knot, confusion, mess)

From the "Beginning Zentangle" booklet in the Official Kit

Zentangle art is a great way to start out now because (1) it's nearly impossible to mess them up and they can be confidence boosters and (2) it's a good way for me to assess what you already know about the elements and principles and (3) you need something to calm you down in those moments of stress (previous to the exams).

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITY: "ZENTANGLE PRESENT"
Christmas are around the corner, and I heard the other day on the radio that these holidays are not as benefitial for us as we might think. They cause a lot of stress... Well I guess part of that stress is the getting everything ready and the buying of the presents. So I suggest for this Christmas:

LESS CONSUMERISM MORE CREATIVITY PLEASE.

For this activity you will choose an object, I suggested a plain white mug in class (2 € or less in any Chinese shop) and permanent markers (different thikness and colours if you want). Let's zentangle an object! If you prefer to do someother creation  (like a manga drawing or a Christmas decoration or a visual poem), feel free to do it, but make sure you sign your creation and take a picture before giving it as a present. You will print the photo and paste it in your notebook (Activities). If you have difficulties printing it you can send me the photo via email, please attach a comment describing the process and your evaluation of the activity.
YOU CAN FIND A LOT OF EXAMPLES IN PINTEREST, LIKE THESE:

CHRISTMAS PROJECT

CHRISTMAS PROJECT

Christmas is a very special time of the year, a bit stressing at times... lets see what is your artistic view of Christmas. The project is based on photography. You will take a few pictures and select a minimum of 3 photos that best describe this Christmas Holidays for you. You can publish them in your art blog or in your art journal. Do not forget to attach a description and explanation of your selection. Here is a video by Steve McCurry,  that will give you excellent tips. Steve McCurry is an American photographer who has worked in photojournalism and editorial. He is best known for his 1984 photograph "Afghan Girl", which originally appeared in National Geographic magazine. He is a member of Magnum Photos.

ART PROJECT: VISUAL ART JOURNAL

I.T. (Information Technology) is changing the way we do things, the way we communicate, the way we sell, buy, connect, learn, study, travel, meet new people, etc. That includes artists, of course.

Artist now use the New Technologies not just to create art but to show their art. 20th century artist "needed" Art Galleries to show their work of arts. Now we are moving into a very different scenario. Let's explore and joyfully blast the possibilities these new media offers.

ART PROJECT: VISUAL ART JOURNAL

Create your own web space. YOU decide what appears or not in your pages. It is YOUR OWN PERSONAL ART JOURNAL. Jessie Liau is an artist that has created a very good example for this project. Take a look (click on the image):

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

The Creative Process goes through several stages, these images capture the idea pretty well. At the end of your work comes the revision, the critique. Do not forget to write both the process and the critique (self-evaluation) at the back of your works of Art.

Here I post an Artist Statement Flow Chart as a guideline to help you with the description of your work and critique.
